    Clyde new personal best.

Daughter had a Lacrosse game at 30miles away (29.85 actually) and I took my bike. It is so much easier to ride when there is a destination. Riding the local loop for training gets boring. I feel great, thighs are a little sore but getting stronger after every ride.

Bike is slow AF but I realize that with my weight I am not going anywhere fast even with the fastest bike.....improving every ride!

Congrats! Longer distances are just as much a matter of knowing you can do it as the physical strength to do it.

Man, I love doing that! It is nice to have a place to be and a time to be there. Next up, ride your bike home too.

Super! Having a goal sure helps; these days I create a ride for each outing so I don't repeat rides/get bored.

Agree, destination is key, that's why bike commuting is what I needed to get me on the bike every day.

Good for you! Nice job. You're right, having to be in X place at Y time makes it easier to ride as fast as you need to to make the time. Last week I was running late for a meetup and went about 16-17 MPH all the way to the meetup, including stopped time at red lights (that's fast for me - usually it's like 14-15 MPH). There are a few trails around here that I ride but it's always riding for the sake of riding, I just reach the end of the trail and turn around, no destination. Sometimes it is nice to ride to somewhere.

I am slow too but as I lose weight I know I'm going to be carrying less and less weight with me, which will only make me faster. Plus I will gain strength and be able to ride faster.

Congratulations. I'm a ways from that. Actually kind of afraid to take on anything twice my daily exercise route, which is now 8 miles. I have bad memories from a couple of centuries I did years ago, so my guess is I'll take another year before I take on an organized ride. of 30+. I also have a health issue or two, which means I try to increase my workout slowly. Don't need any injuries.

    Great job!

I have a very friendly neighbor who has introduced on the pedaling world two weeks ago. He asked me about getting a bike and recover some fit long time ago lost.

Told her what really needed (bike, helmet and some kind of HR monitor to track itself). Gave her a very easy route to be done every day (and it honored his word about that). I know that doing the same route every day gets quite boring, hence tomorrow I'm going to ask how it sees itself to come Saturday for a longer (but easy too) ride with some friends and kids (friends are forewarned about complete bike begginer and getting into fit).
