keep up the good work everyone...
I just stay on it every chance I get wanted 400 plus ,but with hunting season open now I've got split time ,but I'll be lucky if I break my 300 goal

September 5 - 63.25 - third Metric in the last 4 weeks
September 7 - 22
September 10 - 22 miles
September 12 - 27.10
September 14 - 27.10. Same route as September 12, 2 minutes faster and I beat one of our local racers on a 4 mile Strava segment by 4 seconds, including another shorter segment at 24MPH for 2 miles. That was good for 9th on the short and 2nd on the long (22MPH)
September 19 - 80 (was supposed to be a Century, but brutal weather and bad route marking by the event coordinators combined to leave us cutting 20 miles off the route)

MTD 239.45 goal 400/500

Did you break the front part of the cleat? Last time that was my problem. Have kept it at bay by putting my foot down flat at stop lights rather than use the toe only like I used to. I've found out that toe down wears the front of the cleat down quicker.

I don't use strava or a bike computer but calculated two trips from home and three trips from Leonia park n' ride for each week. So thats (23 miles * 2 trips * 2 days) + (9 miles * 2 trips * 3 days) = 146 miles per week. 146 miles * 4 weeks = 584 miles total this month. The "reach" for me would be to do three trips form home. I have done that for a few weeks but got a little burnt out and will take it easier this week. I got the mileage estimates from the google map pedometer https://www.mappedometer.com/ .

Had a morning conference call, so I didn't have time to do my normal laps (3x4.6 mi + 1.x miles to get there and back). So, I decided to just try to do 2 laps, and a few laps around my apartment complex, but to make it a really good effort. It was a really good effort, as I got my best average speed, even though it was windy out. I also got a couple of PRs on Strava on some uphill efforts.

9/3 24.8 miles, 1,152ft^ Basic morning circuit ride.
9/4 10.5 miles, 390ft^ Refurb'd an early '80s Shimano Racing bike for my buddy's youngest son, took him around the neighborhood, thought he might die.
9/5 109.4 miles, 2,057ft^ My first imperial century.
9/7 30.7 miles, 1,453ft^ Basic morning circuit ride.
9/8 28.8-33ish, 1,568ft^ Paused the Garmin so it would stop beeping when I was buying water mid-ride, forgot to turn it back on, rode 4-5 miles before I noticed. :|
9/9 22.5 miles, 1,188ft^ Was on my 30 mile loop, gave up and came home when it hit 97º by 9:30am.
9/10 50.1 miles, 2,667ft^ Left home planning on 30, next thing I knew I was at 40, then said, hell, make in an even 50. Got home at 100º.
9/12 47.0 miles, 5,056ft^ Did not plan this at all. Was a little overcast so I went for it. Forest Falls campground and back. 2:20 to get up there, 1:00 to get back.
9/13 30.5 miles, 909ft^ A legit recovery ride, my legs were still rubbery from the day before.
9/14 27.5 miles, 1,161ft^ Basic morning circuit ride.
9/16 84.1 miles, 3,317ft^ Rained all day Tuesday, so I sat and thought, how far can I go? Unlike the century which had a break in the middle, I just rode and rode.
9/17 21.5 miles, 1,060ft^ Legs even more rubbery than after the Forest Falls climb. Good thing Friday is my normal off day.
9/19 5.8 miles, 194ft^ I'm starting to think I don't have very good luck with tires. (photos below.) Also, bouncing on pavement at 20mph (at my age) hurts for a few days afterward.
9/22 24.2 miles, 2,612ft^ Put some Shield 700x35 CX tires on my stock wheels and went up a thing called Alder Creek Road. It was terrifying. I like roads. I choose life.

Totals: 517.8miles, 24,757ft^

My diminishing luck with wheels/tires/tubes:

That should buff right out.
