9/3 24.8 miles, 1,152ft^ Basic morning circuit ride.
9/4 10.5 miles, 390ft^ Refurb'd an early '80s Shimano Racing bike for my buddy's youngest son, took him around the neighborhood, thought he might die.
9/5 109.4 miles, 2,057ft^ My first imperial century.
9/7 30.7 miles, 1,453ft^ Basic morning circuit ride.
9/8 28.8-33ish, 1,568ft^ Paused the Garmin so it would stop beeping when I was buying water mid-ride, forgot to turn it back on, rode 4-5 miles before I noticed. :|
9/9 22.5 miles, 1,188ft^ Was on my 30 mile loop, gave up and came home when it hit 97º by 9:30am.
9/10 50.1 miles, 2,667ft^ Left home planning on 30, next thing I knew I was at 40, then said, hell, make in an even 50. Got home at 100º.
9/12 47.0 miles, 5,056ft^ Did not plan this at all. Was a little overcast so I went for it. Forest Falls campground and back. 2:20 to get up there, 1:00 to get back.
9/13 30.5 miles, 909ft^ A legit recovery ride, my legs were still rubbery from the day before.
9/14 27.5 miles, 1,161ft^ Basic morning circuit ride.
9/16 84.1 miles, 3,317ft^ Rained all day Tuesday, so I sat and thought, how far can I go? Unlike the century which had a break in the middle, I just rode and rode.
9/17 21.5 miles, 1,060ft^ Legs even more rubbery than after the Forest Falls climb. Good thing Friday is my normal off day.
9/19 5.8 miles, 194ft^ I'm starting to think I don't have very good luck with tires. (photos below.) Also, bouncing on pavement at 20mph (at my age) hurts for a few days afterward.
9/22 24.2 miles, 2,612ft^ Put some Shield 700x35 CX tires on my stock wheels and went up a thing called Alder Creek Road. It was terrifying. I like roads. I choose life.
9/23 30.6 miles, 1,909ft^ Still on the Shields, I have no idea what's wrong with me.
9/24 40.3 miles, 2,943ft^ One of the worst idea I've ever had. Any grade beyond 2% is like dragging a milk crate full of bricks.
9/26 42.7 miles, 1,119ft^ New tires on the bike, easy SART + Riverside circuit. My legs do not miss the CX tires.

Totals: 631.5 miles, 30,728ft^

Seventh CX race of the month coming up on Sunday so I kept Saturday's ride short. Ten miles to get the heart and lungs moving, some dirt to make me happy, and a few dismounts/remounts at the local park to remind my muscles what they need to do at the barriers.

494 miles for the month.

I'm in for 150 stretch to however much I can get in. I have a charity ride coming up late this month, I'm riding the 35 mile leg.

9-3 2.0 quick shakedown ride with the girlfriend so she could try out the bike I built for her
9-5 5.0 easy ride with the kids
9-6 17.1 finally a ride for me with a couple of good hills and a little extra weight in the trunk bag to make me push a little harder
9-7 7.3 riding with the kids who did all but 2 miles of the ride (playground break)
9-12 19.4 went south of town and conquered 'Big Blue' a local hill that is only about a mile long but very steep changed out chainrings for a smaller one today and didn't have to stop half way. Yah!
9-13 20.6 west of town on a flat stretch
9-19 7.0 riding around town with the fiance and kiddos
9-20 16.4 with 25-30 mph headwind going out took an hour and twenty minutes, but coming in was only 32 minutes
9-26 33.2 my longest ride to date on the '35 mile' course for the Texas Tumbleweed 100 charity ride

25.7 mile commuting so far this month (my commute is slightly less than 2.7 miles roundtrip)

MTD 153.7 miles

503 miles MTD. That may be it for September. The weather is supposed to get bad here. This was the first week I didn't ride at least 100 miles since mid May.

09/06 - 25 miles
09/12 - 30 miles
09/27 - 30 miles; Yep, another 30mile loop in lieu of the century I was planning today. Set off with plenty of water and some salty snacks, but realized fast that taking a 2 week "break" in between rides and expecting to hit a milestone isn't a good idea so cut off and did my usual loop. That said, with only three days left of the month I'm not sure if I'll even hit 100 miles for September. HOPING to do a lot better next month, but as the temps get cooler and the sun sets earlier and earlier I simply don't see how I'll make my annual goal this year.

MTD: 85 miles
YTD: 1693 (56%) / 3000 miles

Popped a spoke on my ride home. It happened during a high torque, hard acceleration as I crossed a road. No riding tomorrow, just a trip to the LBS.

Wow, you were going for 40,000 ft?

impressive.

The only way I am going to do 40,000 ft is if I get into a plane.. and not even then!!
