I'm Famous!

The local news showed up to a club ride last night and wanted to interview someone on bicycle safety. My club mates all decided I would be the best person to represent the club, and thus, my 15 minutes of fame have just begun:

Awesome! Good on ya for using a rear strobe. They really do help.
Nice to see that the community powers want to increase cycling safety.

I second the strobe comment. I use one too when I ride on the street because there are so many distracted drivers.

Very cool! I usually only run my rear strobe during inclement weather, but now I'm thinking I should throw a couple of extra batteries in my bag and run it all the time. I rarely ride in urban areas, but folks on the back roads seem oblivious too. Must feel good that your club mates think so highly f you.

It really changed my whole outlook on the week. Was feeling really down earlier (girl problems) and I wasn't even going to show up to ride. I really had no idea my club held me in such high esteem.

Cyclists bring millions of dollars into Montana

The reporter called me out of the blue after reading my trip report on ACA's forum.

A group of us were also featured in the paper that includes Oxford Jct., IA when we stayed in a senior center to get free air conditioning during a cross country trip. I still have the article somewhere at home. I am surprised Hollywood didn't come knocking at my door after that one.
