Pizza Port 70
We had a great time last time, so we must do this again. All are welcome. This is a no-drop fun ride starting at the Artic train station by Angels' Stadium and ending at Pizza Port in Carlsbad. After an early dinner, we'll saunter back to the Metrolink station in Oceanside for the 5:30pm train back to Anaheim. This train has a "Bike Car" which can accommodate quite a few bikes. Weekend fare is $10. Being that we get on at the first stop, we have a better chance of getting them all together on one car. Last time was no problem. Departure from Oceanside is 5:30. Arrival into Anaheim ARTIC is 6:45 PM.
We'll meet in Lot A at the Transit Center. Let's try to park or meet up at the very North end of the lot, closest to Katella. Last time parking was free. There is trail access right at Lot A and Katella.
We'll be riding through Camp Pendleton. VALID LEGAL ID IS REQUIRED! Otherwise, you'll have to ride on I-5 through the area.Parking Lot A is conveniently located on Katella Avenue and can be accessed via Katella Avenue and Douglass Road. It sits directly northeast of ARTIC facility. Lot A is available for short term parking, typically for dropping off or picking up passenger’s and parking for no longer than a day. Parking will be free in all three lots for ARTIC transit and facility users from December 6, 2014 to December 31, 2015.
Lunch: The Shwak in Dana Point
Dinner: Pizza Port - Carlsbad
Sunset: 4:53 PM
Sunset is at 4:53 on 11/8, so if this ride goes like the last ride, we'll roll into the train station at about that time. However, if you have lights, I would definitely bring them. If for nothing else, to be safe as the sun gets lower in the sky as we're heading from Pizza to the train.
