Tour de Donut
I missed it last year but just finished a few hours ago. It was great fun. First organized I have been on excpet for the one earlier this year hat might have had 10 people riding. On the ride home my wife was telling me that people were getting bothered being passed by a big guy like me and I guess that motivated them to rider harder because they felt a big guy shouldn't be able to ride better/faster than them. Any of you guys run into anything like this. I heard nothing but my wife was trailing me also and was noticing some people having issue.

Which one? There are many. The original TdD is in Stauton, Illinois near St. Louis. It was in July.

Very cool!
I just signed up form my first Donut race here in Michigan! Rules for this one are 2 donut stops. Everyone must eat at least 1 donut at each stop or face a 3 minute penalty for each donut. For every donut above the mandatory donut you get a 3 minute bonus... I'm currently targeting 6 donuts... it's a 32 mile loop...

All your extra minutes will be spent taking pit stops

Thought about doing it, but my daughter had her conference golf tournament yesterday and my first Imperial Century is next Saturday (Remington, IN). Went out and did a COLD 27 miles afterwards. Low 50s here yesterday and the 160lbs of insulation I've lost this year meant I was cold... Wore a long sleeve thermal under a long sleeve jersey and that wasn't too bad. Also wore a balaclava under the helmet, which helped. Feet got cold, even with wool socks. Legs were fine even with just wearing bib shorts. Supposed to be high 70s/low 80s on Saturday, so that's good.

A big group of really fast donut eaters. Drafting makes it easy and if its dead flat, even easier to pass donuts around

Never heard of it, but that's the kind of ride I can get into since sweets are my weakness and I love donuts.
As far as passing others I passed a group in full kit obviously in a bike club on my hybrid going uphill. I'm not a fast rider, but I ride hills often and have a pretty good push on certain hills. Plus my hybrid has lower gears so I spin like crazy and never loose momentum. I was in a t-shirt and regular shirts just going for a stoll and they seemed to take it personal because after I passed they all kicked it up a notch. I just maintained my pace allowed them to pass and passed them again a few minutes later after they died from pushing to hard.

As JerrySTL mentioned, the original TdeD in Staunton IL has run annually for 26 years (or is it 27?). That's what you call a sticky idea! I was there for #1 . :-)
