First ride on the new 12-30. Did 14 miles and 2,400 feet of climbing. I'm glad I did it. It'll be overkill for a lot of my rides, but I have enough hills around here that I'll definitely use it. The chain is rubbing on the FD in the 34-30 combo, so I spent a good part of the day in the 28 just so it would be quiet, but when I wanted it, I was glad it was there. And with my version on the RD-5700, there is no cross-chaining issues. Works great.

humm one of the guys on the club offered to trade my full suspension mtb for his 2012 BMC SL01 road racer. I think @tunavic has this model?

Down side it's 1size large, or same size as my super6 w/ taller head tube. 60cm, 58tt, 210ht. Stack and reach are 1/2" of what I ride. But looking at that foot tall head tube is a turn off. Good size is it has reynold Assault wheelset, bad it full ultegra w/ thread BB.

Any opinions of this?

To large for me, I'll pass. Now if it was a 52 I'd gladly trade your bike for it

Yes, that's my bike. Totally happy with it. Have never had any issues or complaints.

I haven't had a threaded BB for like 5 yrs. The cannondale had some creak to it with the stock bearings, not so much after I serviced them. This felt F4 has been creak free no matter how much dirt I ride through it. I haven't service the BB yet and abused it to about 14mo now.

SRAM vs Shimano = chevy vs Ford thing

Got it... I prefer SRAM but ultegra wouldn't bother me that much. Except when I inevitably try to shift and brake at the same time (my rental bike in Italy was an ultegra triple)

well maybe the 6700 ult is better than the 5700 105 that I hated. It had super short throw crisppy shifting to go UP the cassette but not to go down the cassette if I wanted to go faster in the club ride. As you know the SRAM is opposite.
