Because they had . . ._clyde in their name. and we conversed, that is when I started doing the same. We rode together a handful of times before it got warm where I am. Also if someone is really moving and their w/kg is low chances are they are on the heavy side.

Yeah, but I think the number of clydes who put "_clyde" in their name is vanishingly small. I mean, I've been on Zwift since the beta, am Level 14 with +1k miles in, and I've never seen it. There are more than 17,000 clydes on Zwift though (based on results filtering for the Watopia "Ocean Road TT" segment on Strava), so it's more likely you have ridden with them but not seen them.

Zwift also adjusts rider avatar size to weight, somewhat, or at least it seems; when pedaling directly alongside others, I usually appear larger than most. I could be being hyper self-conscious, but it seems true comparing men to women generally, too.

Anyway, when I'm Zwifting, I find I have little time/opportunity/interest or whatever in analyzing whether someone is a clyde, though I do enjoy those times when I find a ridemate. With so many people of various abilities and objectives, though, I think those random kind of match ups happen irrespective of weight. If I craved having a ridemate more, I suppose I would look into groups and organized rides.

I am not sure how mentioning I 'saw' another Clyde to analyzing everyone on zwift. I have my bike set up in front of a flat screen TV and have a ipad on a mount on the bike. I mostly use this time for my base miles so I am not putting a lot effort out. My ftp is only around 200 so I am nowhere near a powerful rider, I am more of a long distance one. I find it interesting to see who is around me and from where. I regularly wave and give a .'ride on' shout out when a fellow Canadian passes by. 2-3 hours on a trainer is VERY boring for me.

I hear you; perhaps I misunderstood before, but I also did not mean to take a swipe at you when I said I don't analyze other Zwifters. What I was trying to get across was the idea that it is very difficult to identify clydes on Zwift, and that for someone interested to do so for the purposes of finding a ridemate, there are more effective ways to do so beyond looking for a clyde nametag or watching their w/kg. I now get that's not your interest.

Kudos to you, by the way, for being able to log 2 and 3hr rides on the stationary! I've done stationary workouts for years, but have never been able to get much past an hour, so I really give a tip-o-the-hat to those of you who do!

I liken the seat I have for indoors to a dork disk. I get too much attention now as a fat guy on a bike let alone one with a odd looking seat. It looks like it has but cheaks of its own.

Funny you mention that, because as I writing about being unable to ride that long, I started thinking about why, and it is because I get so sore on the saddle. Now, I use the same saddle I do for the road, and I can do 2 and three hour rides outside without those issues, but I'd always chalked it up to a lack of movement. Maybe it's the shape and padding though; it is a different application, so it makes sense the preferred saddle shape would change, too. This probably deserves a thread of it's own!
