I have a special hatred in my heart for people who injure other people and flee like ****ing cowards. Accidents are one thing but the judicial system really needs to clamp down on the run part of hit and run. It's disgusting.

I just realized it took me a week to replace a blown out tube... Two days to get to the bike shop to buy a new tube then another 3 days to scavenge up the five minutes to actually replace it. Now I just need to work in an hour, two or four, to go for a ride! "Hello, my name's Mike and I'm a workaholic!" (sorry, wrong group..)`

Suspect turned himself in. Still so sad for the situation, but thankful justice will be served.

Unlikely. Some justice might be served.

Good to see this. But at the end of the day, it just reminds us how inadequate to "justice" system is. The victim is still dead, no matter what. The driver will suffer financially and maybe with some temporary loss of freedom, but this won't really impact the behavior of other drivers.

This weekend I'm working with the Access Fund crew on some trail work in Idyllwild, but I quit counting on Baldy summits from all directions and conditions somewhere around 100.

A bike / hike from the house would be a looooong day!

I still need to bag Thunder and plan on doing that with the old Schwinn High Plains this summer. I'll drive to the flats though.

How's he feeling? Has he been ill, or do you mean after I kept him chasing me up every little climb, hill or roller I could find.

Was this the day you had to be in Escondido? So you rode there after pizza and beer in O'side?

Yes... yes I did. I failed to account for the fact that it's hilly between the coast and Escondido but it worked out OK. :O)

Two weeks until Montana. LHT ships out on Friday.

https://ridewithgps.com/routes/10321434

The route will likely be 20 miles longer as I will likely head to Three Forks for groceries rather than carry them 45 miles from Ennis, but maybe not. At least 70 miles of dirt/gravel, including 10 miles up and 7 miles down a 7,000' pass.

Sunday afternoon, I planned to ride with my son from Poway to our church memorial day picnic in Presidio Park (just 20mi and change), and ride back with the rest of the fam in the minivan. But Sunday evening I ate some bedeviled leftovers, and spent Sunday night puking my guts out. I didn't want to take any chances being out on the road if more gastrointestinal issues might come up, so we all just drove.

One of the clubs I belong to in the I.E. does an annual Memorial Day ride. This is a much better and more professional video than the one I posted above. I think you'll enjoy it.

Thanks to three solid days of rides this weekend I'll top 800 miles for the month. First 800 m. moth this year.
