Hi fellow Clydesdales from Chesapeake,Va.
Hi All, my name is Mike Dixon. I'm 53, and well in excess of 300 lbs. I used to ride an old Motobecane Grand Jubilee as a kid and put many many miles on it. Time, age, career, life, weight, all crept up on me and Doc says the heart needs a break. Recently diagnosed with AFIB and awaiting a jolt to reset my rhythm in the next couple weeks, yeah!? Anyway, I just recently purchased a 2009 Trek 1.2, dark blue and white, and in like new condition. Sort of waiting for Doc's o.k. to start putting miles on the bike and then all the questions and asking for advice of my fellow Clydesdales will begin. I'm in the Norfolk/ Va. Beach southeastern Virginia area. Flat as a pancake which is fine with me. Thanks for the welcome!

Hi Mike!
Cycling can do nothing but good things for you. Take it easy and have fun. Ride as much as you enjoy. Don't go for time/distance/anything, just ride! Once you start losing weight you can worry about things like speed/distance/time. It's getting started that's the hardest part!
