Naughty

I was naughty.

It my birthday and the start of Birthday Season in my home (mine, wife, 3 sons from today until late November ). It was a small cake, but I had 2 pieces. And it all gone except for a bite...

Tomorrow's/this weekend's ride(s) will be brutal for me as I flog myself in an attempt to remove these carbs that I've ingested.

I have no regerts from eating the cake...

Yesterday was my birthday, I had a box of Fiddle Faddle. The scale showed it this morning. Oh well, There a full year of biking to get me to the other side. Get busy living or get busy dying.

Oh, and Happy Birthday!

There are, right now, boxes of donuts and bagels downstairs in the office break room. I am not eating any.

My wife does corporate events. Last night she had a wine tasting thing put together for her company's customers, and came home with boxes of really nice wines, cheese, meats, pickles, and other delicious things. I ate some of that, and added some nice wines to the wine rack.

My ride in today felt great. The calculators tell me that is about 1,000 calories. The ride out will burn probably 1,400 more.

Maybe I will have that donut.

I REGRET NOTHING!

I was a little indulgent last weekend too, but the scales weren't too bad when I got back to them Monday. I figure I watch myself closely during the week, and ride as much as I can, and do a good ride over the weekend if I'm able to, my number will still continue to go down. Maybe not as fast as I'd like, but this isn't a sprint LOL

I had some rum cake today. My colleague pours rum over the cooked cake then frosts it. It's about a shot a piece.

I'll skip the scales until Monday...

Carbs aren't kind to me. And starchy carbs are my arch nemesis! They are to me as the Joker is to Batman...Cobra to G.I. Joe.

I've been doing really good at keeping my carbs below 60 grams and exceeding that only 1 or 2 times in the last few months.

I dropped 50lbs that way. I gained some back by not watching them. I try to keep them below 100 and make up for it in exercise. I find that I can spin more if I'm in a keto-burn, which I like. Beats the heck out of a sugar bonk.

I've dropped about 33 pounds in 13 or 14 months. Didn't really start shedding it until I got on the bike some what regularly. I'm only able to ride on weekends since getting ready for work, commuting and working takes up 13-14 hours of my day....

If I get my speed up and a much faster bike with rack mounts, I might be able to commute by bike. But then I'd be biking in downtown city traffic which seems like a bad idea.

(That'd be a 60 mileish round trip ride, I'd drop fat like Voigt drops his shadow. )

Nice! I'm fortunate in that I'm only about 15 miles from my office, and I can cover about 95% of that on multi-use trails. I'm waiting for the fat to start melting off, but I'm adding a lot of muscle so the weight drop isn't quite hitting like I'd like.

I didn't eat the donut.

Everyone need to feast once in a while, esp on birthdays and holidays. No shame in that.

I recently had a birthday myself. Went for a birthday bike ride. I used to ride a metric century (like they do in Europe) on my birthday. But now I am bit older than a European century... so I rode a mile for every year of my age.

While riding I saw a sign that said Bridge weight limit 10 tons. I figured... there must be room for pie.

I used to be about 10 miles. With the amount of MUPs my city has, it was very easy to add miles on the way home.

Congratulations on the weight loss. Very impressive.

Similar commuting/work situation to me -- long commute, long day, long commute. By the time I got home, it was too dark (except in the summer) and I was too lethargic to change and ride. The only time I got to ride was on the weekends.

So, I got a second bike and keep it at work. At end of day, I change and go for an hour or so ride before it gets too dark. It's a much better way to end the day than sitting in my car for 50-60 minutes. Plus, by the time I'm on the road (car), it's a bit over an hour later, so traffic is lighter and it now might only take me 35-40 minutes to get home. I get home feeling better and with a clearer head and more energy.

(Originally, I had one bike and a bike rack and just drove the bike back and forth. What a pain taking the bike on and off the rack twice a day, every day.)

When I drive to work, it takes about an hour due to traffic and navigating the roads. When I ride to work, I'm on trails for almost all of it, and it takes me about an hour. So that's a win.

The trails are great because I can light up the bike and ride them at night. I only have about a mile and a half where I'm worried about getting run over by a car.
