That's what I mean. A lot has changed and I'd like to see an update on recommendations. I bought a Kestral Talon tri with their stock Oval Concepts 327 wheelset, 700c, 20/24H, cartridge bearing hubs. I'm looking to want to upgrade for a bit more speed from the mechanical side of it.

I'd suggest starting a new thread rather than dragging up one from '08. Not sure how you will upgrade to faster than 20/24. At 255 pounds I'd consider going to higher spoke count wheels. Losing a few pounds off of you will give you more gains than any equipment upgrade based on speed gains.

Okay, I'll just restart this thread then. We should try to keep it updated as new technology comes onto the market.

Maybe a mod could lock this thread?

I have a set of Clydesdale wheels:
DT Swiss R585 rims (deep, strong)
DT Swiss straight-guage spokes, 32h.
Shimano Ultegra 6500 hubs (were NIB for build)

Maybe 300 miles.
The builder thought the customer (body builder) needed something that strong. He doesn't.
I traded them even up for Easton EA90SLX wheels with R4 hubs.
I'll either peddle them or use them as a training set. Sure can't hurt 'em.
Like new.
