Great motivation! Diet and ride, ride and diet, it is hard to do one without the other. You can do it! I also credit the people on this site with some of the inspiration I needed to keep going. Good Luck!!!!!

Down to 199 from 258.7 one year ago. I'm feeling better than I have in over a decade and am enjoying the energy I had in my early twenties! Life is good again!

I haven't updated for awhile - I started out at 588 lbs - just weighed in today at 349 - 239 lbs since july of 2009. I'm feeling pretty good and am within 99 lbs of my initial goal - SPITTING distance...

We need a baseball fan to come up with something like biggest weight loss east of Mississippi with his own forum and is a Rush fan.

Actually, Mr. Stormcrowe's and Mr. Limbaugh's politics are very, very different.

He means the band, Rush, not the bloviating blowhard, Rush Limbaugh.

You ought to check them out, Neil, you might actually really like them, songs like Free Will, etc.

i love this forum its great to see real people loose this kinda weight without the "Biggest Looser" style of dual trainers screaming at you...gives me real insperation. Before i found this forum i really did think i was the only one that was trying to loose weight this way. I am trying to get a job in another town near me and i hope i get it if i do it will mean a 32 mile commute round trip each day and can feel the pounds melting away......

New Coverage

I know many here have lost much more, but still, it was sort of fun to get covered by the local paper:
NY Daily News: Biking to Work Pops Stubborn Spare Tire

I had gone to a city council hearing to voice my support of the growing bicycle infrastructure in NYC, and a reporter called the next day to ask about the weight loss. I was on vacation all last week when it was published, and didn't know that yahoo had picked it up and the comment section had gone crazy....
