That's pretty cool, Marcus. And judging from your before and after photos, I wouldn't discount your weight loss. Great job.

I know I've posted before in this thread, but since I haven't been the 400 pound fat guy for a long, long time it's time to reset.

This is Neil version 2.0 at his fattest: about 310 or so, in August:

This is where I am now, about 30 pounds below that:

This is what I'm getting back to, or less. About 240 pounds. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to go below that since I have loose skin to deal with.

I never posted pics here, but here it goes. B4 and after. Well, it;s more like after and before from left to the right. Fat one (i am in blue)is from August 2009 and not too fat one (in red) is from August 2010. Trying to keep weight around 195-196 during winter season with rollers and winter rides. My goal is 185 or better 180 and this summer I hope to achieve it.

This is a little self-indulgent - but the local Minneapolis NBC affiliate did a story on my weight loss. Maybe it can be inspirational - or maybe just laughable. LOL

Personally, I don't see it as self-indulgent at all. You're to be congratulated and celebrated. Or if you tend toward modesty, feel free to put those off until you've finished your journey. Either way, it's a story worth telling.

Way to go!

Not at all, pastor. I became a better Christian once I began to lose weight. Your weight loss is testimony in every sense of the word.

Great job ID64 - you've made some fantastic progress and I can really see it in your after pic. Way to go! Looks like you may have upgraded the bike and clothes too, eh?

These were at my heaviest weight - 425 pounds. These were taken in the Fall of 2008. I didn't actually start my diet & exercise program until October 2009, but I was the same weight when I started.

Here is a shot from my first 5k race. This was taken in March of 2010 - about 5 months into my journey. At that point, I was down to about 359 pounds. (a loss of 66 pounds)

And finally, (for now), here are some shots from our century ride this past weekend. About 9 1/2 months of work, and down to 310 pounds. (total loss of 115 pounds since starting mid-October 2009)

Since CraigB mentioned this post in another thread, I'm bumping it. And adding some additional photos.

June 2010:

October 2010, Ohiopyle, PA:

From my first 5k, November 2010. My friend came down to run support for me. Sayre hadn't pre-registered because he said the t-shirts they give away never fit him. So I gave him mine just to prove him wrong. I've never seen a guy happier to be wrong!

On the Exeter Trail, November 2010:

Finish of his first 10K, January 2011.

Rick 458 Clydesdale start pic

This was mid September at my Daughters wedding party

I was an easy 300 not sure of the wife's weight
like I posted in the intro thread we will celebtrate
25 years together in Sep and I want to be at 225
with tone and strength, I will pick up a
Specialized Hardrock 29er Sport Disc next week
and burn the tires off of it.
I lost 55 lbs some years back with Atkins and lots
of stair climbing walking and stationary recumbent riding
at work.
but it all came back and more.
I just need to get into my old Marine mindset
Mind over Matter (or Masss in this case)
looking forward to help and support from all the success cases

Here is a very unflattering picture of me in June 2010. I'm kneeling to put a race number on my bike. Approx 98kg/216lb.

And here I am in late January 2011 lining up with the boys before the Team Time Trial. I'm on the far right, blue/white helmet. Approx 89kg/196lb.

Well folks, here is the dreaded "before" pic.

I'm tipping the scales at probably around 400-420 lbs. I'm going for a weigh-in Tuesday.

I'm looking forward to having a better (read thinner) picture to post soon.

My brother and I ran a 10K together this past weekend. I feel obliged to post these:

From the first time we ran together.

From this past weekend's run.

It's the same race course, just 11 months of healthy living later.

Before (start of 2010) - 327lbs, now 255lbs. Actual got down to 242, but lost focus in September, and have a few family issues to work through. Back to gym in an hour though.

327lbs

250-ish.

Target is 168lbs.

I really need to get a few decent current shots. But for now, here's me about 18 months ago, at around 265, and again last August at about 220:
