Thanksgiving has taken its toll on me.

I had 8 wonderful days off for Thanksgiving and spent each on playing with my son and doing things around the house. I only made it out for one ride in those days and it was only about 10 miles to the store.
I didn't recall really eating *too much* in those days but I guess all of my slothness caught up to me. I stepped on the scales here at work and saw that I gained a little over 6lbs in those 8 days. UGH!!
Time to cut back on the frozen pizzas and get my butt moving some more.
The bad part is that I have another 8 days off coming Christmas, maybe I'll dust off the weights and start doing some strength training when I am home.
It's hard to go out and ride on my 4 days off. The 4 days that I work I don't get to see my family since I work 13hrs and spend 2 more commuting. I work 4 days then am off 4 days. And I really enjoy spending time with my 16mo old son, and I can see that he misses me on my work days.
Time to start a new plan for exercise.

Anyone else have Thanksgiving treat them a little worse than they had planned?

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

It's not hard for me, I had a bariatric procedure done a couple of years ago. I still can't eat too much! If I do, I get sick. Makes it interesting sometimes getting enough calories in for the type of riding I do.

I can believe it. I assume your stomache has stretched some though, right?
In a pinch do you just shoot a bunch of pixie stix for the high calori/carb content. <-- not a joke/serious question.
But I guess if it is pure calories you need you could always down a bunch of canola oil. That stuff has about 150 calories per tablespoon, and all fat, but the good fats.

You're not alone!
I went to Key West for Thanksgiving. Although I tried to eat sensibly and walked quite a bit, I think the beers took a toll on me. I gained about 3-4 pounds down there. Damnit!

Actually, on long rides, I use a concoction of Fructose, Maltodextrin, Whet protien, electrolytes and brewers yeast for calories and nutrition in a water suspension! I also carry B&D Glusose tabs for under the tongue if I start to bonk and need a FAST shot of glucose! The mix I make is banana flavored and very digestible!

I'm 3 pounds down from where I was at the beginning of nov. I was 219, now I'm 216. I was at 212 for a few days before T-day. *sigh*
