LOOK KEO CLassics for a Clyde?
Hello fellow clydes,
I am looking for a set of pedals that wont break the bank. I've consedered and read into several, but keep comming back to the look of the LOOK KEOs (no pun). In an effort to keep my build costs reasonable, I am considering the KEO classics, or maybe the sprints. Are there any of you currently riding these, or maybe have any experience with them? For reference, I am 6'5" and weigh in anywhere from 218 to 230, depending on my self control or lack thereof :o Thanks and Happy Holidays. |
I've got about 4,000 miles on my Keo Sprints in the last year. Cleats have lasted about 2000 miles each and you can get cleats online for under $15. They still spin great and have held up to my 230+ weight just fine.
I came to them from some egg beaters. They are harder to get into, but once in I like the bigger platform and they resolved some hot spot issues I was getting over 50 miles or so. |

Pardon my ignorance here, but what are eggbeaters? Are you refering to the speedplay type of pedals?

I like my Eggbeaters as well.....I have thought every now and then about switching to a pedal with more of a platform......I guess I am just not there yet.....I weigh 270 now as well....

I use Look pedals and I am heavier then you. The bearings need to be overhauled after two seasons and 4000 miles.

Thank you all for the replies. I am almost convinced that I am going to go with the Look KEO Sprints. I already have some older look pedals for my MTB and since I plan on only using one set of shoes, this should work out ok. I was just afraid of the "injection molding" process holding up to my clyde status.

3 bills on Keo Classics. About 500 miles and fall with no problems to report.

I went ahead and ordered the Keo Sprints from Probikekit.com, they had the best price.
Thanks to all who replied. |
Look Keo
I don't know if I have Keo Classics or not -- I bought my Keos a few years ago, and so far, I love them. They don't squeak like other Look pedals, and they have held up great under my weight (230 lbs).
Cheers. |
i got me keo classics. on my second pair cause the hinge bolt on my left side decided to shear its end off.
