A gig at those with snow and cold

What started out to be a short 30 minute mild ride as I did not head out until 10:15 PM, ended up being a 1hr 50m 21.5 mile ride around the hood. It was such a beautiful night out, clear skies, bright moon light, no wind or breeze and a lovely 65F. Man you have to love Florida in the winter.

When I started this little adventure on June 1st, I put my riding goal at 1000 miles by the end of the year. Tonight I am sitting at 1270.5, , and will be riding again on Sat and Sun. I should exceed my adjusted goal of 1300 quite easlily now.

Now my gloating is done, resume shivering and huddling together for warmth.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Oh, you evil Clyde! Actually, it's been high 40's and low 50's here for the last few days! Good job on the miles! Next year, you can double them!

Yeah, I am still riding in shorts and a t-shirt. It looks like I will finish '06 with 3,700 miles.

Last chance I had to ride was Christmas day. 31 degrees and no wind. When you ride in Florida, do you have to dodge the Palmetto bugs when you ride? Do they hurt when you hit them?

Normally I wouldn't mind, cold in general doesn't bother me.

But we took a trip up to the northern part of the province to visit family for a few days, and I went out down to the water to take pictures (coastal village) and it was gusting at least 70km/h and with windchill was probably -30C (-22F).

Thankfully I was bundled up and warm, but it's certainly no cycling weather for me

HA....no not this time of year. In July however that's another subject, and yes they do hurt. What also hurts is when you get hit by bats as they are swooping for bugs . Can't tell you what a weird experience that was.

What critter leaves those funny little white piles of stuff behind you in that second picture?

Did 44.7 miles today (01-01-07) in the high 70's

How could you live so close to the New Belgium brewery and still be employed? I love their products. Too bad we don't have their stuff in Florida. Feel like doing a little bootlegging?
