    Clyde Club.

    Hey,

Any other clydes using Bikejournal.com for their stats and ride journals. I find it great with the amount of data you can capture. But, they also offer clubs/associations. So, I just had to startup a clydesdales club.

The mileage goal for 2007 will be 20,000 miles. But, I have been quite enjoying bike journal as it gives me some motivation to try to stay at a decent ranking compared to the other cyclists on the site. Guess it is just a brain game.

If you want to join in just go to your bikejournal.com account, manage clubs and use the drop down list to find the clydesdale club.

    Any questions let me know.

I don't want to start a heated debate, but in Bike Journal do most of you use the "indoor miles count" option or should they be excluded from the 20,000 mile goal?

I was just saying the same thing yesterday. I had to bunny hop a curb to avoid a dog and well, I slammed the curb rather hard. I ended up having to unhook the back brake just to allow the wheel to spin. I order a trueing stand today from performance and will be getting the Wheel Book and hitting up my LBS wrenches for some training. I decided I am also going to use an old rim for practice on building my own wheel so I can learn the ins and outs of wheel maintenance.

The Spin Doctor Stand on sale for $39.99.

I figure in door and outside is all time in the saddle so why not include.

That looks like what I need. The park tools ones seem to be around 100 bucks. worth it in the long run I suppose.

I have purchased a decent ebook by Roger Musson. Great for building wheels from what I am told. And, once I had a look at it seems pretty good. Now I just need some rims to play with

I've trued MTB wheels, never road. One I trued by thwacking it against a tree. It reall does work.

Have you ever compared to the books by Jobst Brandt The Bicycle Wheel? This is suppose to be the be all end all for wheels books. Of course at $9.00 it probably worth a look. Thanks for the lead. Yea, while the Park stand is good, I figure since I am only going to be working on my wheels, I could swing $67 for the stand and additional tools I needed versus the $100+ I would have spent on the Park stand by itself.

No, I have not followed up on Brandts books. I shall have a looksy though. I believe I found that ebook via a link on a british cycling forum I frequent where they said he was the be all end all also. Perhaps the British verison ... but I figured for the cheapness and the fact I could download it (being in Tokyo) it was the best option for me.

I ordered a Ultegra - Velocity Fusion wheelset.......it has been over a month since my credit card was charged and still no wheels and no completion/ship date. Will not return phone calls........refuses to provide actual build status or completionship dates via email.
