Well, I don't think we're going to make 100,000 for the year, but the original goal was 50K, then 80K, and we're at 95,524 miles for the year, so we still haven't done badly Let's see how close we can come to the 100K though!

Week ended 12/22/2007:

Miles: 49.11
Time: 02:56:22
Ascent: 1,643 ft

Spreadsheet updated!

14 of these miles were on the trainer. Got out for a 35 miler this morning to put myself over the 2,000 mile mark for the year which was my goal. Final count 2,013.38 and 71:31:28 of saddle time since late April.

That's it for me for 2007. We are on our way out of town for Christmas tonight and it's cold and snowy where we are going and I can't lug my trainer & bike along. Though, I will likely get to the Y several times while we are there and do some swimming, and jogging maybe.

Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year!

If you use a spinner bike that tracks miles, those count as well Don't want to miss out on miles to carry us as close to 100K as possible

By the way, I'll be sending out the invites to the 2008 database from the current list. I'll make additions of course as necessary. The invitations will be going out after Christmas and I'll be setting up a Spinner Miles 2008 thread.

By the way, I actually got 125 in, including a 3 hr 48 mile ride in today in the cloudy, damp, 50℉ weather to ride my years for tomorrow, since it's going to be windy, rainy and I'll be traveling to see family!

That's too bad. I probably put in another 150 miles after I stopped recording here, but I didn't have odometers on some of the bikes I was riding, so I quit keeping track. I didn't realize they'd be such important miles at the end of the year.

Week ending 12/29 - 104 miles. I was going to ride today to get the remaining 26 miles I need to reach 3000 for the year, but I'm extremely unmotivated today - perhaps I'm worn out from my first 100 mile plus week in nearly three months. I'll have to get the miles tomorrow. Meanwhile, I'm sitting around, listening to Bach, posting when I could be riding.

Pardon the digression, but I remember buying my first bike a year ago. I purchased a Trek Navigator thinking I'd ride the darn thing a few miles on bike paths perhaps once a week. What happened?!? "Where is Neil B. the mild-mannered chess historian, and what have you done with him?"

Neil, you grew....in the good sense And lost.....in the good way

You got rid of a 125 pounds of ugly fat without having to have a divorce

By the way, for simplicity, everyone report your miles through the 31st This way, we get the years data separated from 2008.

You have a PM. I sent you a certificate. I sent it via PM because I used your real world name on it. Congrats on your accomplishment.

I have another 50 miles or so to post. I will get to it tonight. That brings me to just over 1000 for the year.

Finally updated for November and December (was floored by illness for a while there).

Since I got the Garmin in February 2007: 2,026.81 miles; 146:30:48; average speed of 13.8 mph; 172,423 calories.

I logged 214.5 miles before i got the Garmin, so that gives me a total of 2,250. Better than the goal of 2,000; not as good as the goal of 2,500. Pretty decent, though, for a guy who also had 78 flights for business in 2007.

Tom, I can't get you to 100,000, but I can add 508 miles for me in 2007 per my two bike computers. It should be more than that, because I had two failures on the expensive one on a two long rides.

Ok, I just added you into the 2007, with a cumulative.

I'm putting the 2007 Database to bed now, all! It was a great year with an adjusted final mileage of 97, 529.1 miles! Great job all! Let's get cracking on 2008 now. I'm officially closing this thread now.
