bloody wind!

I am really starting to hate winter!
I went for my weekly sunday ride and had to end it at 12.5 miles. I was trying for 20 today but the f-in wind was too much. About a steady 20 with gusts to 30. Oh well better luck next week I guess. It's suppose to be warmer here and that will make my commute nicer.

Anybody else have this problem today?

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Not today, but try those kind of winds with a fully loaded tour bike and a crosswind if you want a thrill!

Makes holding a straight line interesting to say the least!

It's 14 and feels like 1. The only wind I encountered today on my trainer was when I broke wind.

That's too funny.

I fotgot to mention on my ride today, I found a dead bobcat lying on the side of the road. It was a small one about 30 pounds I guess a little smaller than my dog. He must have got hit by a car b/c I found him on top of a bridge. Poor kitty.

+1 on the wind. I wanted to head out after church and realized that would just have been a wasted day. Never made it above 50 and a constant 15 to 20 all day today. The wind is now about 5 to 10 and temps are about 45F. I just don't have the desire to ride in the wind and cold tonight. Will see what tomorrow brings.

Ahhhhh. Yep, nice area I almost bought a house down there many years ago. 45 minutes if my Mother in law is driving. Now that they have basically gotten all the road work done and 3 lane 95 to Daytona, I can usually make it to Palm Coast in about 30-35 minutes give or take a cop slowing thing up in St. John's county.

I'm not to fond of strong winds even though I know it makes you stronger. My Team in Training coaches have a saying that the wind is your friend. I like to think of the wind as the friends your mom warned you about. LOL!!

Windy here on the West Coast (of Florida) as well. 20 MPH most of the day. The wife went out for a jog-said it was the worst ever for her.

I only got to ride 1hr outside last week, and yeah I'll agree, it was windy. But you know what, the wind's got a benefit; blistering paces when it's at your back. And this time of year you're guaranteed to have a steady wind facing one direction as opposed to a wind that can shift directions on you during a ride.

On Saturday I went out into the wind for 10 miles before turning around to head home. I only averaged 17mph on the computer at the turn-around. By the time I got home my average pace for the entire hour was closer to 19.5. Cruising those last few miles at 26-27mph was great!

Yup, gotta love that wind!

Also bad in the Southeast, we had steady 20-24mph winds and 30+mph gusts. I sat Sunday out, just no fun working that hard for so little miles. Looks quieter today.
