Beautiful First Ride !!!!!!!!!!

What a BLAST!!!!!!!! As many of you know, I bought my first Trek ladies bike with step thru frame in YELLOW and have been practicing on a trainer indoors since Feb 11th. But today was the BEST DAY! I got to ride it outside for the first time (weather)! I rode to my neighbor's which isn't far but far enough. Their dog stopped in front of me (STUPID DOG) so I had to get of and push about 20 yards but that was it. I had been worried because of back problems, and a recent injury about 3 weeks ago has landed me in Phys Therapy for the next 8 weeks. I begged my PT to let me ride it at least some so I wouldn't get out of the daily routine. So we agreed on 1 mi a day til therapy is over and only if there is no pain. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE!! THE WIND.....THE SUNSHINE.......THE PAVEMENT.....THE SWEET SMELL OF SPRING AROUND THE CORNER...............RIDE LIKE THE WIND CHILD RIDE LIKE THE WIND!!!!

I haven't seen any of your other posts, but congratulations! Sounds like you are on your way to a fantastic 2007 with that bike.

Got any picts of the bike? Post 'em if ya got 'em. (you may have already posted them in another thread, but when I got my new bike, I was happy to post pictures anytime I could)

I did post it before but here it is again. It's just the factory picture for now but will try to get an actual one up. I added a computer to it. Guys, I have had alot of encouragement out of this site and it helped me to get the nerve to try this. I don't think you guys realize what a blessing you are to someone like me who needs the encouragement to stick with anything like this.........or maybe you realize exactly what you are to us and maybe that is why you do it. At any rate.............thanks a million for the support I have had thus far. I fully intend to keep you posted on my progress as I do need to talk about it to someone.......thanks again!

Congrats on your first 'outdoor' ride: keep pedaling and the pleasure will increase (along with the pain, effort and all those other dimensions). There's just nothing else like riding along with the wind in your face and the sun shining and the birds singing, is there?

Way to go! Staying with it, even if it is for a short distance is one of the keys to NOT quitting. Before you know it that lovely spring weather will be here, and you'll be ready because you've already started to acclimate. Your positive mood is infectious - I just got a boost from your youthful enthusiasm. Thanks. Unfortunately its 14 degrees here in Dayton this morning. What the heck, I plan to go out and walk/jog some.....

I know what you mean. The wife and I got our first outdoor rides in yesterday. WOW, what a great feeling. I managed to do 29 miles before she got home from work, then we did another 4 miles before it got to dark.

Keep up the good work Faith

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

They're only long going up! Going down isn't long enough and it's sooooooo fun!
