Fat insult on commute

Yesterday, I'm biking home and stop at an intersection to wait for my girlfriend a quarter block away. A Middle Eastern male in a big Mercedes pulls up and starts lurching the car forward little by little and yelling for me to get out of the way. Guess he wanted to turn right. I didn't want to move out of the bike lane as my girl was almost there. She decided to wait a few feet behind the Mercedes which was now partway blocking the bike lane. As I pull away into the intersection, the boat captain called me a "******" and something else inaudable. So I yelled back the worst insult I could think of at him - "terrorist!". He didn't seem to like that and flipped me off as he sped away.

I haven't been called fat since high school...and I had bike shorts on showing off my muscular legs....the nerve of some people from the comfort of their cage!

Moral of the story: continue to lose weight biking, so next time he can just call me an ******* biker

Next time, just smile and tell him that while you may be fat, you can and are losing weight, whereas he has developed as much intelligence as he ever will and is currently on a descending scale with age!

Alternative B: Ask him how long he's been fascinated with large sweaty males?

Highly doubtful...he'd have to get out of his cage first. We all know the chances of that occuring...practically nil.

Or just say 'I'd rather be fat than stoopid'.

One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. ................

I was driving a car near mitcham in south london, there is a nice straight that people put the foot down a bit.

There is a set of traffic lights about half way along, the car infront does an emergency stop at the changing lights, the car I am in slides up behind and barely kisses the back.

He jumps out starts cursing and waving.

I get out of the car "sorry whats your problem ?"

He shuts up gets back in his car and drives off.

There must be a moral to that story.......... I am not the biggest, I am not the strongest, but I do dent things. I just dont like road rage involving firearms, I tend to leave as quick as possible when I spot those.

I LOOOOOOOOOOVE when people in cars have something to say to me. Being a little more intempered in my youth, I used to just hit their car a nice hard whack with my air pump, until I realized how often I was going through airpumps. Nowdays I just spray them with my waterbottle or if given the opportunity, I invite them to pull in the next available parking lot and I'm MORE THAN HAPPY to discuss this matter with them, with us both standing on solid ground, so far not a single taker but I'm keeping that cup half full...Those folks are j-off, social deviants, unhappy about some other lot in their lives, you know, the kind of punks that treat their wives with no respect and are mean to their pets. The God of cycling has a special place wating for those fools.

My reaction to such fools is to laugh at them which always seems to get them angrier. I have the power to control my own feelings while affecting someone elses. I also like to make funny faces at them as you would at a small child. Oooggiiieeee boooggggiiiiieeee wooogggiiieeee, is a cinch to get most loons pressure up! Don't get angry! Let the other guy become irrational.

I'm guilty of similar reactions in the heat of the moment, but keep in mind; he's driving a 2000lb+ weapon, and right and dead is still dead.

eat chili before every ride then you can really show him how wide butt gastronomy works
or you could leave a nice dent in his car with your lock that is if you carry one when your riding

It is funny reading this kinda stuff.

I have taken offence at window shouted crap in the past, one the car got stuck in taffic, and I suggested he come out the car if he was so brave and was gesturing at me through the window, when he didnt I punched him though the window (can I add that was stupid) and it leaves you in a million cuts.

The second time I was shouted at the window was open so I jumped in and the vocal passenger got out and turned into an olympic sprinter.... the person that was driving discharged their bladder at the sight of me diving through the window however.... people should not make abusive fun of people dressed as reindeer on christmas eve that is my motto....

It is nice to be nice and you never know when you might meet a nutter.......

I tend to agree with Seamus.

How about just ignoring them and getting out of the way as soon as you can? You're no match for someone in a car and taking the path of least resistance sure beats being dead or maimed. Saves yourself and your family a lot of heartache.

Riding around town in tights during the state H.S. toruneys has gotten me a lot of the same guff out of cars (full of teens). So far the one that shuts 'em up the fastest: "Stop flirting, I'm married!" The really homophobic males seemingly levitate.

You know, I'm a fairly nice guy to almost anyone I meet. I don't pick my friends or my actions based on what a person is but rather what THAT person is, meaning I don't care if they are black, asian, gay, straight or what, as long as he is respectful to me then I am to him.
But when I am in one of my moods and someone takes a personal shot at me, the gloves come off and I'll say whatever I can that I think will hurt them the most.
