Clydesdale Forum is Refreshing

Fellow Clydesdales,

I just wanted to let all of my fellow Clyde’s know that I really appreciate the Clydesdale forum! I’ve been a member of the BF for quite some time and used to spend most of my time on the road cycling forum. Over the last couple of years the road cycling forum seemed to gravitate towards people making snide remarks in response to many posts and just looking to wage war with other participants. I actually quit scanning the BF for quite a while and then the Clydesdale forum started.

I just wanted to share with you that I find it very refreshing to see the comradely and support offered on this forum. You guys have regained my interest in the BF and I’m glad to be back.

Just thought I would let you know….

Thanks, Kid-Cycle! Much appreciated!:D Yep, we're trying to put together a tightly unified, but open and welcoming community here. :D

yeah I figure when we can all ban together and talk in a civil manner about parts training bikes and such it is very good I also like theis forum because being a manimal I break stuff and to be honest I kinda resent the clydesdale title because most people seem to think we are a bunch of fat slobs riding little diamond frames ya know but here it is a badge of honor to be a clyde

Actually, the term comes from the triathlon world and represents a really STRONG athlete. ;) We might be big, but we can pull the whole pack is what it really means.

thats not the attitude I get from the feather weight roadies around here
but I will say if they ever let me ride one of their bikes it will be in two by the end of my sprint to the end of the block

Aw heck, they're just jealous!:p

Remember they are a bunch of skinny little stick figures that'd blow away in a light breeze!:D

I dont know if IBM used the same marketing slogan over there

"Slim might be in
but
Fats where its at"

The only thing IBM has done that I have ever appreciated. ;)

I've appreciated it too. Its nice to be starting out and not be treated like an idiot because you are not riding a $3000 bicycle with customized everything!

Yeah, that is serously way too much cash to plunk down on a starter bike. Did you encounter that at the Road Cycling forums or something?

Welcome aboard, Kid-Cycle

yeah cut that in half and you got a really good middle of the road bike unfortunatley for me I have no choice but to end up with expensive bikes I break every component that isn't built to handle alot of force

Some of us may ride $3k plus bikes but that is not the point... my point is the people participating in the Clydesdale forum appear to be more interested in sharing experiences and knowledge as well as providing support for others and they have a place to brag about personal accomplishments. It seems to be more of a community and I like it that way :)

Yep, and we work hard to keep it that way too! We work hard to keep the riff raff out (wonder why they haven't run me out yet! ;) :D )

Retem 03-31-07 10:08 PM

yeah I get snarky fromtime to time but I really like that my advice and everyone else's is respected here and almost no two bits of experience are the same
