28km/h to 48km/h headwinds SUCKS
So I took about the Guru today for a little spin. i was expecting to do about 15 to 25km. I would have been the first time I have been on this bike outdoors since last Nov. I have been outside once this year on my my true North (commuting bike with fenders and soon to have racks). The first ride of the year was a sunny and cold day, around 1+C but i have the clothing to bear it and it was a good ride to clear the cob webs. This was last Saturday. Today, different story. I knew it was windy but I felt I could battle through ti. No way. As I found out after I came back from 5 km of suffering the wind was gusting up to 48km/h. It felt like I was climbing Mont Royal in Montreal.
I will attempt to go out tomorrow morning as it should be a calmer outside. This weather has rreally been bad lately and I am trying everything I can to get out weather like this is brutal.
I feel bad though as I only got 5km. I have to really build this up. I think the first ride with the cycling club will be 55km and I want to do it at 23-25km avg. Must starting putting kilos in.:)
