Phoenix to San Diego ride
Hey guys. Well, nervous time is setting in. In one week, I will embark on a five-day, 400-mile solo journey from my home just outside of Phoenix to San Diego. Having weighed as much as 462 lbs. (I currently weigh about 280 following gastric bypass surgery), I am doing this ride to bring awareness of the disease of morbid obesity and the treatments that are available. I am also trying to raise a few bucks for the American Society of Bariatric Surgery Foundation. I put a link to donation information on my website, https://bigguycycling.com. I will also be keeping a daily journal there. You can also see my journal at https://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/2353. Wish me luck -- I may need it!

I lived in SD for 9 years. I miss it, but couldn't afford a house there.
Best of luck! Is it getting hot out there yet? That grade coming out of El Centro should be a doozie!
