Buy a Rockhopper Comp Disc (stock) or a Rockhopper Disc with extras?

Hi all, I'm trying to finalize my decision here.

Should I buy a rockhopper comp disc the way it is, or buy a rockhopper disc with a better saddle and better tires?

thanks,
-Drew

"depends" :)

Mainly depends on the saddle and tires. The Rockhopper series comes with good tires to begin with, so it'd be somewhat hard to beat them (for XC).

Now if you are going to use it on paths and it comes with a B17 and some Big Apples, then it's a different story.. :)

A friend of mine just bought a Rockhopper, it is a very nice bike for the price. Although the tires seem to throw a lot of stones up when riding on an unpaved trail, it seems like the lugs on the tires are too close together and "grab" small stones. Other than that issue they are good tires.
