New bike, metric century and joy

I'm bubbling with delight after getting my new bike, a Thorn Club Tour :-)

I was going to visit ny not-so-very-LBS in the nex town, a 40 km roundtrip to change the stem but found myself pedalling madly down quiet country roads after swapping the stem out and thought I might as well do it properly.

The first 100km took 4 hours and 2 minutes, took a small breather and some sandwiches I had brought along just in case ;-)
Finished at 127.65km, 5h 10m and completely beat.

Ayway, here's a pic a friend took when I stopped by his house coming home

Click on it to see the full-sized one.

I'm absolutely in love with this bike, it handles incredibly well, the gears work like nobodys business and it rolls smooter than I ever imagined a bike could :-) I have monday and tuesday off, so this is going to be one looooong cycling weekend :-D

Yeah, the ride is really comfy, wouldprobably be even better with a bit less air in the tyres. My arms and back are a bit sore since I'm not used to being bent that far down and stretched out for longer times, been riding a hybrid wit the bar level to the seat and about 2" closer to the saddle for a few years but I'll probably get used to it fairly quickly as I plan to ride at least 500km more this week and next

Still comfy, I now have nearly 500 km on the bike :-D Joined up with a pair of cycle tourists from France yesterday, invited them in over the night and rode with them to a nearby town today, did 130km yesterday and 125 today.

Nothing yet, haven't really figured his/her personality out and I don't want my favorite bike to have an unfitting name :-)

Very nice bike. A wonderful performance on the ride. And your jersey is stylish, and not cluttered and junky the way many bike jerseys are.

Thank you :-)

The jersey is made by Löffler, for Rose Versand's own bike brand(they claim to be europes largest bikes and clothes postorder company, seeing their catalog I believe them). I happened to spot it on sale for 25 euros and just had to have it. I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting the link.

No, there are no rule prohibiting posting links to businesses. Especially when they make neat jerseys.
