Jaxgtr's surgery a success

Well had my surgery on Wed and all went well. I now know why my knee pain was much more intense as I got closure to the cuttin' date. It seems the cyst I had was cushioning a small tear in the Meniscus which could not be seen on the MRI. The Cyst popped at some point and exposed the tear, which I did not know I had and was continuing to ride my bike on.

So, the doctor, cut out the bad bone, fix the meniscus and gave me some Percocet :D :D :D . Pain level is not too bad and have not really needed the pain drugs yet, so hopping that is a positive sign. I started walking around, with crutches, about 6 hours after the surgery, amazing thing I think, and only down side at this point is no showers for 3 days. I guess it's a good thing I am married to a nurse who can give me a sponge bath :D.

So the Medical Team, family and friends and especially my loving wife  that have to put up with me and help me during this time. Your the best.

Good to hear, Brian! Outstanding! Enjoy that percoset!:p

Soon enough, we'll be seeing you stack on the miles, Bro!

I guess I missed that you were going in for a surgery, but great to hear what a success it was jax.

Great to hear of the success! As a person with a bad knee, I feel your pain, but good to hear it's probably going to work out well for you.

Good news. I had knee surgery in high school. It sucks being on crutches. My Mom gave me a bell to ring anytime I needed something. Did your wife give you a bell to ring? ;)

My wife gave me a bike horn! I was referred to as Harpo for a while!

I saw the "jaxgtr" handle and figured you must be from around here.. :) Glad to hear you had a clear problem and fix; hope you recover quickly! If you ride any of the NFBC rides, I'll probably see you around town.

Great to hear man. Soon you will be riding as never before.

Good news Brian, enjoy the percs

Thanks for all the well wishes. No I don't have a bell, but I have two kids though so they will be getting a workout. :p I saw fig newton commercial and said, oooh those look good, so the wife picked me some up at the store today. I think I might be liking this recovery thing. :D.

I had plans to ride the Forts tour, but my wife had an medical emergency and couldn't. I keep meaning to join the NFBC, but never get around to it, but will probably do so in the next couple of days. I typically ride on the Southside and over on the Baldwin Train, but always looking for new places. Once I heal, I give you a shout.
