performance bike. - forte tires.

i see that performance has gt2k kevlar tires in my size, 27 x 1 1/4 - on sale for $ 9.97.
im not familiar with their brand , but i live in a urban area where glass is sometimes a problem. so i like the extra protection of the kevlar.

anybody tried their tires before. if so,how was the quality.
for $10 bucks i should just grab 3 - 4 anywaze.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

grab them, They are either rebranded IRC';s or Chin Ho's and are a pretty decent budget tire.

i went out and, grabbed 2 of these tires. there was a goodwill there,so i stopped in there hoping to find a incredible bike deal. instead i found a helmet for $2. i had been wanting a helmet and, that worked out great.

its a snell, headwind 2 helmet.no cracks or anything and,its in great shape. for $2,cant beat it.

back to the tires.the look great, kind of like panaracers or like that..
good call tom stormcrowe.

A used helmet is a big NO-NO, it could have been in a crash...It may look sound but it could have structural imperfections that you can't see...Best bet is going to your local LBS and get one...

i know . but i have a big head. im a big guy. and i havent seen any that i like at my LBS.
BUT WITH MY TIRE BLOWOUTS,I NEEDED A HELMET.

I Have a few im looking at on ebay.maybe i can sneak one in.
i have a nephew at ohio state who im hemorrhaging money to and,i cant afford a $100 helmet.
but i do feel a lot safer even with a used helmet on. even if it was $2 at goodwill.
thanks anyway though for looking out for me.

+1 for not using a used helmet, you're asking for trouble. We're talking about protecting your brain, here.

This site has some links to large helmets. What it comes down to is that you can get them but need to special-order one. Have you ashed your LBS if they can do that?

I have them on my Fixie and previously were on my Cannondale. I put Ultra Gatorskins on the Cdale and have had more flats with them than the Performance tires.
