I was so close to riding a second metric century today. But I began to run out of both daylight and energy, and finished with 60 miles. The route took me through the hill country of Kimberton, Phoenixville, Collegeville, Royersford, and Spring City, as well as along the crushed limestone Perkiomen Trail and paved Schuylkill River Trail. I rode the SRT all the way to Port Royal, back up to Audubon, and took the Audubon Loop and its 9 per cent grade to the Perkiomen Trail.
Even though I ran short at the end, I am pleased with the result. Not only did I ride a route that featured rolling hills for half its distance, I did it with loaded panniers!
