A Clyde's Race Result

This clyde doesn't post here, but his account of a 12 hour ultracycling event is well-worth reading:

After reading some of the things list on different web sites, I am going to have to sit down and seriously look at some of these different events and see what I can put into my goal list after I get a few triathlons under my belt.

My goal is to finish an Olympic distance triathlon. Why?

Because I want to, is the only thing I can come up with. I have seen the iron man triathlons, and just to be able to finish one of those is amazing, let alone the time in which they finish it.

I plan on trying a sprint or two in the spring and then try an Olympic distance in the summer. I am still way overweight to do this, but I just have to set my goals and reach them. I think anyone can do a triathlon (sprint distance), but getting yourself into the shape you want to be in for the race is something completely different. I am not a fast swimmer, fast biker, or runner, but I do finish the things I start, so I will make this happen.

If you can swim, bike and run/walk you can complete a triathlon.
