I joined Team in Training last night and am going to start training for a big ride in November, The Tour De Tuscon. I'm pumped up about this. Is anyone else here doing anything like Team In Training? What has your experience been like?
Here is my little website they set up for me. I have to raise $3500 for the Luekemia and Lymphoma Society as part of this whole deal. I'm a little nervous about the fundrasing, but I'll do my best!
Awesome! I signed up w/ TnT to do the Solvang, CA century this past March. I thought about re-upping for the Tuscon ride but I'm going to hold out and mentor for the Solvang team this year.
Good luck with the fundraising. It helps if you know a LOT of people, and you probably know more than you suspect. I contacted old college buddies, coworkers from my previous job, and close friends. That was enough to put me well over my fundraising. So much so, that I didn't even hit up my current coworkers. (They'll get hit up next season
You'd be amazed at the generosity of some people!
It was great getting back in touch with my old college friends again, so the fundraising was doubly rewarding for me.
Take the training seriously also, you'll finish the ride if you half-azz the training. If you stay on it though, riding 2x midweek plus the Saturday ride, you'll really improve on the bike. I become a decent climber and lost a little over 30 pounds during my season.
I thank you, and my Mom, who is now recovering from her bone marrow transplant, thanks you for your efforts
