For those looking for bikes.... Kansas City area

I don't know anything more about this than what's here:
Passing this on for anyone who can use it.

(from Jeff)

Kansas City Bikes & Trikes for Tykes must close its doors.
We're being evicted from our warehouse--it's being razed next month.

JULY 14th 8 am to 5 pm....Total clearance!!!
1415 IRON Street North Kansas City Warehouse district. (go east off
Burlington approximately five blocks and north on Iron street about a
half a block).

We have more than 2,000 donated bikes in a variety of sizes and styles
to fit small children, adolescents, teens and adults. We have road
bikes, mountain bikes, cruisers, you name it.

Prices on all bikes are dirt low and are sold as is.

Our board members will be on hand to help folks find a bike that fits
their needs and size. Please feel free to ask anyone wearing a Bikes
and Trikes for Tykes nametag for assistance.

Please feel free to bring your friends and buy as many bikes as you
can fit in you vehicles.

I think I am supposed to be out of town, but I might see if I can drive the wife down there and get her a road bike. Thanks for the heads up.

We drive to KC every winter for a party. It's only about 5.5 hours from us, but I just won't be able to get there.

Well, if it makes you feel better, it looks like it's probably highly advertised. I'll bet all the good fixer-uppers will be gone in an hour.

Y'know, if the actual bikes change from day to day, I'll bet these bikes are for sale right now.

I know, but I'm 6 hrs away from KC! I'm looking locally though, and was just kidding in my previous post.

If you are seriously interested in a bike, send an email. They have some very good prices on some bikes. If we didn't just by two new bikes, we would be headed there to buy a few bikes.

I sent an email and the guy responded in less than 10 minutes with what was available for the size of person my wife was.

Yes, I got there at 8:05 and it was already super-crowded. I think someone who worked there took all the really good bikes because I could see a bunch of them roped off from the others: Fuji, Nikishi, Motobecane, etc.

I tried out a Bianchi for $60 but the fit wasn't quite right.
