Co-Motion Mazama!

Many of you know my plight as a tall clyde trying to squeeze into a stock bike. For my anniversary gift, my wife gave me the, "OK" to purchase a Co-Motion Mazama!

I went in today for my professional fitting. Once Co-Motion creates the blueprints for the bike they will send them to me for approval. After that it will be about 8 weeks for them to manufacture the bike. I should be riding a "Big-Boy" bike by Halloween!

Here is a preview of the color "British Racing Green":

Whoa, AWESOME! After all those miles on the Trek, I think you definitely deserve it

Are you going with the complete bike setup, or just the frame/fork?

excellent. Did you shop down there have a tester ride or are you going sight un-seen? I might have to take a drive down there.

Nice. Entertained a Co-Motion myself. I know it's not the point, but I'm curious what it weighs in at?

I don't know right now, but I can tell you in about 10 weeks. Bike weight was no consideration for me, as I need beefy parts. I won't be doing any racing anytime soon.

No model on sight (and there certainly wouldn't be one in my size anyway). I have spoken with the two techs there at the shop and one of the owners of Co-Motion, they seem to think this will be no problem. IF there is a problem it will be hashed out in the blueprints, which I must approve before they begin manufacturing.

The owner of Co-Motion said they have made a few bikes for members of the Portland Trailblazers, and the shop in Clearwater recently built a bike for an Orlando Magic player.

How big of a frame did it spec out to?

The fitter didn't say. I should get the blueprint from Co-Motion in the next week or two.

I'd read a lot about the development of that bike in the Rivendell Reader. Used to be called the "bison," which I liked better, but a very, very nice bike just the same. Congratulations on having a wife who is kind to you.

I really have few options. I took a look at some Zinn Cycles, but they were about twice as much. I need custom, custom costs money.
