Accidentally broke my distance record today.

To make a long story short, I managed to turn a 17 mile ride into a 26 mile ordeal with a wrong turn, a side trip, and forgetting something and having to go back. There's a full writeup in my blog.

I'm actually not that excited about this ride though, which is kind of strange. I really didn't want to do a new longest ride. I just wanted to do a challenging ride at 2:30, and then do it again at 7. It looks like that won't be happening though.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Some of my best rides were accidental record setters.....it's all in how you view them and the best view of yours will be tomorrow.

Congratulations!

Record distances should always be celebrated. I find getting lost is the best way to push further as it doesn't involve any planning and thinking. Sometimes I just take a different road not knowing where it leads and explore.

I'm discovering nooks and crannies of the place where I live by doing just this.

Fortunately, it's not been an ordeal, but I do encounter some really steep hills that I did not know existed .

Congratulations...

Did you have fun? That's what's important.
