Always take the bike with you.
So today was the final race of the Mountain biking season for my daughter, after the race they have a big awards dinner and present all the awards (she took 1st overall BTW ). Anyway it's about 30 miles from the race location back to town where the dinner is, as I was packing this morning I thought "I should take my road bike, I could ride from the race to the dinner" I then promptly didn't load the bike. Turns out two of the other dads from her team were riding there road bikes from the race to the dinner and I was kicking my self that I didn't bring my road bike.
Moral of the story, Always load the bike, you never know when you may get the chance to ride.
On a side note, I singed up for my first metric century next saturday, I had planned on doing a full century but since my knee is doing much better (I can at least ride clippless now) it still isn't up to doing the full century, so I figured I would settle for the metric .

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

I'm visiting family in Altoona, PA right now and am *really glad* I took my road bike. I just rode a wonderful loop up to Horseshoe Curve and back. The climb was long and much different from the ones I normally ride in NH, and the descent was spectacular.

I debated for a while whether to bring the bike - it was a lot of trouble. But having ridden that loop just once was worth it. I hope if the weather clears up tomorrow morning so I can do it again!
