Wheelbuilding!?
As I've read here in the forums many of us are spoke breakers. I've decided to hang on to my Mavic CXP's since many of you have had good luck with them though I'm planning to have them relaced 4 across with DT 15 gauge spokes per the suggestion of a bike pro. My questions to you all, how much is this going to set me back? Would it be easier and/or less expensive to just get a new wheelset? I read in some post by Mr.Beanz that I could get rims, spokes, hub built up for a relatively modest price around $150 for Deep V's any confirmation on this? If so can somebody send me a link.
I just rode about 11 miles on a wobbly, break rubbing rear tire due to yet another broken spoke. Second one in the last 85 miles.

I ride on Deep V's laced to 36 spoke Phil Wood hubs and they have proven to be both reliable, dependable and pretty bullet proof and I am the large economy size and ride daily. The cost for these OTOH is no where near the price you quoted but likely due to the cost of my hubs.
You don't need 4 cross, you do need 36 and DB spokes are stronger (better) than single gauge IMO. I have both.

A link to one of the online stores. This is what I did. SInce the front doesn;t take as much abuse, I worry about the rear first. I bouthg a Deep V on sale at the shop for $25. I doubt you will get that lucky. Ultegra hub for $59, other is a DA hub for $100. Look for sales. LBS will charge you 50% more, my experience anyways. $25 for spokes. I built myself but you will pay $45 at a shop for the build.

$45 for the build
$60-$75 for the hub depending on finding a sale or online. 105 hub will be more inexpensive and works great!
$50/$25/$45/$70- $190 for the rear unless you build it yourself (or a friend), $150.ish for the rear.
Decent wheelset maybe $300 but won't be a Deep V. Yo don't mention your weight, might be fine with a 32 3x pattern. I'm 220-240 with 11,000 miles on one Deep V, still fine!
