How many days do you usually take off between rides and or exercise? What happens if you donít stick to your regular diet during those days?
I havenít taken more than 2 days in a row off in the last 3 months and today I felt why. I basically took the last 3 days off besides a 2 mile hike on Friday. We were entertaining family and friend from Friday-Sunday. I pretty much ate, drank, ate, partied and slept for three days. I did hit the booze Saturday, but no where near like I would have in the past.
Today was a miserable ride. I felt like I just lost 2 months of training. Iím not sure if it was the days off, the food, the booze, or a combination, but Iíve never felt this crappy before. I had SERIOUS lactic acid build up and fast. Iíve never had to actually stop pedaling before. Iím well hydrated and eating normal again. Any chance it was something I ate? Are there any foods the cause an excess of lactic acid in the muscles? Or am I just a wimp and need to stop whining and ride more?
