Kona Hoss Deluxe 2007 and Kona Hoss 08 for a big Fella

Hello all, I am looking into getting a bike, I am a big fella around 6-3, 400lb age 26

I am looking at getting a Kona Hoss Deluxe 2007 or Kona Hoss 08, I am totaly new to cycling, so could someone tell me witch one of these would be the better choice, I can get the hoss deluxe 07 for £635 and the hoss 08 for £699, but with this you get 10% discount on accessories, so they are the same price rearly as i will be spending money on lighs etc anyway.

I read that I may need to do something to the wheels to hold my weight, anyone any help on this?

I don't plan going off-road much, if at all to start with , but thought a Hoss would be a good choice of bike , due to it's strengh.

The '07 will probably be discounted...I'd go with that, but then again I'm a cheap bastid .

lol, ya gotta love the Kona website...they named one category of bikes 'Clydesdale'.

I'm 6'2", 317lbs and I just bought a new Kona Hoss 22" frame 2007 model for $798 CAN on a winter clear out sale. I needed to put a taller riser and handle bars on it but other than that it is really nice. I've been using it to commute to work this week and I'm taking it out for it's first mountain ride in the morning.

Got back from the ride... 19km of fun I'm very happy with this bike!

I think Kona is a good choice. I've heard of a few clydes rolling on them.
