OK, just as a reminder, you can all add yourselves in. Just sign in to Google, and edit yourselves in to the map. I have it set open and public.

I forgot to update my status. I've moved from Ames, Iowa to Columbia, Missouri. Now, here's the rub; Mrs. Stoutdog will be taking a job in Brecksville, Ohio as soon as the Doctorate is in hand in a few months. Myself and the Stoutpups will be staying behind for a year while the oldest pup graduates high school. I am hoping for some direction as to what parts of town to avoid for a "single" woman, or great areas for her to check out/ ride in. She likes to ride, but gave up her roadie and rides her comfort bike now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If this is the wrong place for these questions, please move this long winded post.
Thanks-

Just added myself, Tucson AZ, Rita Ranch.
Just getting back into biking after a 3 year leave of absence due to health and work.
Tipping the scales at a lowly 259 and hopefully on my way down. Mostly riding Fantasy Island (mtb) but just got a road bike and will do my second ride this sat.

I haven't made it over to Fantasy Island yet, even though it's so close. I usually ride my road bike over to Vail (via the Rita/Old Vail intersection first):

RR to Cienaga HS and back = 18 miles
RR to Del Lago Golf clubhouse and back = 22 miles
RR to Pistol Hill/Spanish Trail intersection and back = 31 miles
RR to Saguaro NP front gate via Vail and back = 45 miles

I'm the guy in a gray jersey on a red Fuji, usually riding on Saturday mornings too...

Thanks Tom

although

when I zoom in on Jamaica I notice that I am somewhere in the ocean, south of Kington

We have a pretty large cycling community here in Jamaica, they just dont seem to post much.
I on the other hand spend a lot of time online and want to really track my progress and learn from pros, so here I am.

Here's a website that has some info on Cycling in Jamaica and more specifially the Kingston to Negril ride http://www.cyclesandfitness.com/Hist...il%20Ride.html

I just started riding this month and have only put in 3 days, huffing and puffing my way to about 15 miles. Next month I am aiming for 30-50 miles, if I put in the time that I am planning I will definitley do close to 100 miles. I am going through some medical issues with my better half and am in the process of moving to another house.

The Kingston to Negril (140miles) ride is in October. I am hoping to go about 50 miles by then, I dont think I will be ready to tackle the hills into Mandeville.

The terrain around Kingston is pretty good for cycling, from the long streches of level road out to Port Royal and Spanish Town from Kingston, to the steady incline from Port Royal to Liguanea, the steep hills of Stony Hills and even steeper Red Hills, or a long ride on flat to Clarendon 40-50 miles and then a brute of a climb into Mandeville (20 miles of climbing). From the other side of Mandeville the climb is even steeper.

Dearborn Heights, MI about 15 miles out of Detroit. Weighing in at about 6' and a svelte 305 lbs. I've played Basketball 3 times a week or more for about 17 years now and the knees are having a hard time anymore so I decided to hop on a bike again after about a 10 year hiatus. We generally would go to the bar after we played Basketball , negating any calories burned and I'm hoping getting into riding, along with a healthy diet will help me get back to around 220.
My buddy gave me a huffy to get started on and I just put a Trek Navigitor in layaway which I hope to have by the end of the week, been gradually building myself up and did about 5 miles tonight, not much I know but hey it's a start.
I'm a complete noob when it comes to the intricacies of your sport so please go easy on me as I try to dissect your brains here lol.

North Atlanta, South Cumming, Ga.

Hey from Cumming Ga.,
New to forum and just getting back into riding...grew up on bikes and used to ride constantly. Now 45 (wow, never thought I'd make it this long !)6'00", 225lbs @28% body fat according to my Tanita scale/b.f. monitor. Quit smoking and went from 192 last year to 232 ratrher quickly. Goal is 225 down to under 200 as quick as possible. Then ultimately 180. (My college weight). Even though i smoked I felt ALOT better at 192-195 #'s.

Eric
zermatt7

P.S. Does any one sell "Rat Traps" any more ? I like to ride my bike to the pool, to a hike etc...with tennis shoes, hiking boots and dont want to do the clip on thing or what ever is all the rage now. I never had a problem with the traps and I rode every where with them growing up.

GO BUCKEYES

Tom

Please tell me how to add my little bicycle to Pendleton, SC 29670
Type slow so I can understand.

Riding 16 miles each way to work as often as I can. Riding my New Specialized Sirrus with frustrating new adjustments. The LBS, Clemson Cyclery, has been good to me.

Hi - I am new to the forum and this section of it. I'm in Pittsburgh, PA (15233). Don't see anyone else around, would love to find others to ride with as I'm very self-conscious riding a bike being a bigger gal. It's fantastic seeing this section and how many others are like me though :-)
