Your shiny cogs make me think of a comic I saw years ago. There used to be this comic book about hot rods called cartoons. One of the comics showed this guys shop with super shiny tools and a guy asked him how he kept them that way. He pulls a greasy small tool box and says,"these are what I actually use"

Quick review: First 25 miles yesterday!
OK, the geometry is different, with a longer cockpit and lower crank, and shorter crank arms than I have on the old bike, but that seems to really help my cadence! The lighter weight made more difference than I ever could have imagines and the Deep-V's make the handling crisp and tight!
Acceleration is off the charts after all the miles on a touring bike I've done. I feel like I've gone from a truck to a Ferrari! In short, I think I'm gonna love this bike!

Naw, it's still going to be a commuter and bad weather bike. + there are a lot of places I ride where I need the wider tires and toughness of the touring ride, as well as the easy field expedient repair capability of friction DT shifters.

Great looking Allez, Tom. I've got the 2006 Allez in Red, but I'm liking the black better.
