If i dropped off the map for a bit..i'm sorry..i still want to plan the week long tour but i'll have to plan it out once i get settled.

Well it looks like i'll be moving to Atlanta,GA come the first of the year!

I'm looking forward to being able to ride with my fellow Clydes/Athenas
Give me a shout or some pointers on good places to ride if you can

If you know of good clubs to ride with i'll be happy to listen as well!

Let's ride

Hi, Chris,

I am a Clyde living in Alpharetta as well. I've been riding for a few months now. You'll want to check out Big Creek Park in Roswell, a neighboring city. Big Creek is off of Old Alabama Rd and is great single track for some trail riding. I try to get out there and ride several times a week work and time permitting. We should hook up some time when you get in to town and ride the trail!

Cool! Welcome to the South! We have much nicer winter cycling weather than Illinois.
I am about 3 hours from Atlanta in SC.

I ride with a friend from work sometimes. I'd say it's 50/50 with him or alone. I mostly ride trails. RAMBO (Roswell Alpharetta Mtn Bike Org) is an org that you can join and ride with. If you're a roadie, you can also look at Bike Roswell (http://www.bikeroswell.com/). I, too, wanted to do some tri's, but had knee surgery earlier this year that took that off of my TO-DO list. For tri's, take a look at http://www.tri-atlanta.org/.

Looking forward to a good ride when you get in town!

I do most training on the Silver Comet Trail (paved).

I'd like to get into a couple triathlons this spring/summer. Also doing the Bike Ride Across GA this summer. Should be fun.

I usually ride group with several from work - usually during our lunch hour.

For Tri's, my hometown has one every year. http://www.visitgreenwoodsc.com/Thin...ingEvents.aspx

Next time I'm going to be in Chattanooga, Chris, we'll have to ride Lookout Mountain! It's a horrible climb, but the DH run is .......exhilarating!

Hi Chris -- probably your best source of group rides (road) is www.bikesbl.org for the Southern Bike League. A great group, with a very full calendar of rides. Regular rides are on the calendar, but folks are always just posting looking for others to ride with for an impromptu route. Another site with good maps, but mostly towards the west side of town, is www.atlbike.org

(Sorry, I'm not a clyde/athena, but the title caught my eye. Hope it's okay that I posted here!)
