Okay, so basically your frame is toast, so maybe try and find an old bike with a good frame, where the rest isn't so hot, or maybe someone selling a frame, I really like 80's steel road bikes, especially ones with lugged frames, lots of places that deal in used bicycles, can be sources, you can use parts off your deceased bike to make the new build perfect.

That's exactly what I have in mind. Am already looking for a decent, inexpensive frame as a replacement.

I just sent you a PM. I found you a Frame and fork with a freshly serviced BB in Lincoln, NH for $35. It's a '77 Raleigh Grand Prix.

W/E 6/2 (monday 6/2?)

151.57 miles. Short commuting week due to the holiday
Almost to 3,000 for the year.
Busted 2 spokes on my commute home Thursday

Overall I think that was pretty good for an OEM 26" rear wheels I'll fix the spokes for now and hope it lasts a bit. Eventually I hope to get a front generator hubbed wheel and strong rear wheel with matching rim at least.

21 Miles, sounds better in Kilometres 34, this season so far has tanked . Although I am still 110km (68 miles) ahead of last year, but 257 km (160 miles) short of my goal for the year. I think I set too high a goal for May, will need to reset the goal a little lower for May next year, then ramp things up in June.

I'm sure several of you have noticed that May 31 doesn't appear. I'm doing that intentionally to hold to a 7 day cycle. It averages out from month to month as well as in the annual YTD total.

By the way, I'm venturing out on the bike tomorrow!

Good news on the riding Tom. Well for the first time all year, over 100 miles this week. Sad that it took vacation time to get it. I am 500+ miles behind last year which really sucks, but I think I see the light at the end of the work tunnel and will be able to try and catch up. 119.3 for the week, spreadsheet updated.

Week ending 6/1:
80 miles - cost myself a round-trip commute due to a packing blunder (bike in truck for a reverse commute, but shorts/shoes at home... id10t!) So 20 miles on the holiday on Monday, and 2 round-trip commutes. For the month, I made 11 out of 12 possible commuting days (didn't count the aforementioned blunder as a possible commute day) - I can live with that! Now, if only I could manage to watch the "fuel" intake on days that I don't ride, I might actually lose some weight!

Week ending 6/1: 77 miles. Would have liked more.

My wife and I did our first kayak/bike trip today. I drop her off with the kayak, hop on the bike and come back in an hour. Great day for it but I only got in 12.5 miles.

Doing my first charity ride on 6/7: the Exeter [NH] Lions Bike Tour. I'm on for 50 miles. Will be my first time on that distance, but with a few 30-35 mile rides and a lot of commuting in, it should be fine.

140 miles this week. The final 20 miles of which resulted in two busted spokes on one bike (LHT), a horribly cracked rim on another (Hardrock) and a serious jolt of negative to the ole morale after the previous two weeks being so awesome.

Here's hoping a couple presents from DT will make life all better again. Key word: hoping.

May ended in a fizzle. 26.4 Miles the week before Memorial day - got sick and then had the displeasure of flying to a business trip to Switzerland the week after Memorial day (big goose egg for the week).

Even took work out clothes for the hotel gym but the meetings ran from an 90 minutes after clearing customs to 2 hours prior to departure.

June has to be better, right?

Reporting a little late due to traveling over the weekend. Just 46.3 miles this week.

However, my travels brought me to Portland, OR where I was able to ride a bit but did not track my mileage for that ride. See my post in the Pacific Northwest forum to read how much I enjoyed it.

Indiana

June 07, 2008
Arrived in Indiana with no problems.
Came early to get adapted to the areas weather.
Friday, met up with three local riders for 58 miles on some nice smooth clean country roads.
Rain, Rain, Rain :
68 Total for the week.
Might need to borrow Tom's trainer.

I did get SOME miles in this week. Between the wind, storms, etc, I still managed 82 miles.

I am doing mine on rollers. Two back to back tornado evenings in the basement of the high school as we stopped a softball game for my daughter and last night we were in the basement of our house with the sirens going off. More headed our way for tonight.

Tonight is bluegrass jamming at 8:30, so I better get on the rollers for a while before they show up. I will post my miles tomorrow.

51.59 miles this week due to heavy rain. I am planning to embrace rain riding though so that will no longer be an excuse!
