The temp on my wifes bike computer said 118 yesterday I think. The news as I rode said 102. That asphault, concrete and exhaust sure made the 118 seem more likely. Mon I had 60 miles so I may just have to do that 200k this weekend to put a little dent in the gap.

And I thought my three straight days of 40 miles were pretty good. Actually 4, but one was on last weeks mileage.

July was odd. One week of vacation without the bike and another with thunderstorms left right and center resulted in a strange yo-yo effect on the weekly mileage. I've started riding to the Hull ferry - adds about 5 miles to the morning commute and the scenery is lovely. Here is a link to the bikely map:
https://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Hull-boat
Might be a bit cold in February though....

I have to swim a lot more now, as I create a new event with my new job called "Outswim the Aquatics Director". Of course that means I need to be in the pool at the YMCA every day to swim my 80 laps (little over a mile) and that is going to kill my bicycle miles.
So, until November 30, my miles are going to drop.
Only 165 and next week the numbers will be lower yet as I am out of town on trainging any I will be taking a motorcycle, so no way to haul a bicycle (yet!!!).

Someone needs to check the dates for June, July and August, as they are not Sunday dates anymore.

Hey - there...Miss B here...OK _ When y'allpost these miles are they for the miles just for Saturday or from Sunday of the prior week to Saturday of the current dated week?
Perhaps I could go back and post my 500+ miles (YAY) since I bought the bike a few months ago?
OK -Just let me know if I can join and what to do..... (But ofcourse I may still bore you all with my ride reports)

Nice Hat! It was a might warm here in North Texas on Saturday. I merely poured one of my water bottles over my head for short term relief.

96.9 miles this week. Didn't have time for a long ride this weekend because I've been at work fighting to reach a deadline.
Edit: I just realized that last week I topped my 2007 total mileage of 1600 miles. Now at 1715 for 2008, I'll be shattering my record from last year.

Week ended 8/2/2008
Distance: 106.11 miles
Time: 6:16:55
Ascent: 3,129 ft
Saturday ride (50 mi) killed me. Hot & humid. Something wasn't right. Thought I hydrated well enough but my butt got kicked pretty good. Actually felt a little light headed when I finally got off the bike. The road definitely won the day on Saturday. I haven't been feeling great all week though. Might have a little bug or something.
Spreadsheet updated!

Another pathetic week, for me, 19 miles, this years rather poor bike performance can be blamed on one thing, and one thing only, the weather. It has rained or snowed every weekend since last November..... We set rainfall records in June and July.....
Thinking my next bike may need to be an ark if this keeps up

111.33 miles this week. Spreadsheet updated.
It would have been around 125 except I broke 2 spokes on my solo 1/2 century attempt Saturday morning and only made it 36 miles. I broke the first spoke @ 25 miles and tried to nurse it the rest of the way, but it didn't work out. I was on pace for about 3 hours 10 mins when I abandoned. If I hadn't broken down, I know I would have made it.
Here is the ride I was trying.

After only riding 100 miles in July, August is off to a great start. Broke 100 miles last week for the first time in over 10 years. Have a good chance to break 800 AND 900 miles for the year by the end of this week.

201.29 for the week from commuting 3x and a little errand running. Should get my new aerotrunk for my cummuter today so hopefully it'll fit all my stuff and be a little more streamlined on the recument compared to the side parachutes (panniers) I have now.
