Wonderful ride today.

Well, the temp got up to 45F, the wind was only 3 mph, and the sun was a-shining, which, of course meant I had to spend 2.5 hours on the road bike riding on our local plowed trails. Just a smattering of ice here and there, otherwise dry and clear. Big storm coming in Wednesday, though.

Great day!

Did others get to ride today?

45 deg's? Hope you're on bikejournal. You'll blow by several riders as most don't ride in anything under 70!

Around here that would mean NO riding from mid September until mid June. Cool temperature riding, just means working differently, although I have worn shorts and jersey in the low 60's. One nice thing about cold weather riding, your bike has much better A/C

You want cold weather riding, try when it's below freezing.....

45 F is really a nice temp for riding (if the sun is shining). I had lycra bottoms, underlayer, bibs, long-sleeved cycling jersey with hood, and two very light wind breaker jackets, along with winter-type light gloves. I wore my cycling sandals with socks.

58*, No Wind, Cloudy
Trying out my First Toe Clips with Straps.
Takes practice to get in them, but what a differance when riding.
5 Miles then the rain came.

24*F this morning on the ride to work. I really got some comments when I got to work. Its 46 now and I am looking foward to the ride home. I only had lycra shorts with wind pants over them, so my upper legs were cold. I had a fleece shirt under a wind jacket and upper body was actually sweating. I had a full face ski mask but my lips froze. I think I will add a scarf on these cold mornings.

My limit is 50'. The only cold weather gear I have is a cotton sweatshirt.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.
