'04 Specialized Hard Rock Comp (aluminum MTB) is on semi-perma loan to my GF's son. It used to be my "beater" bike. Good for 3' drops & other stupid maneuvers.

'06 Giant OCR C3 (full carbon road) is my primary road bike. Great for rides longer than 20 miles.

Ordering an '08 IRO Mark V (steel fixie) from the LBS this weekend. Intend it to be a fair weather commuter / around town / short distance bike.

Intend to pick up a proper trials bike eventually, just to kick around on.

Would love to replace the Specialized MTB with a custom built Ellsworth Specialist, but that's definately not in the budget anytime soon.

I ride the 07 Mark V and had an issue with the front brake. I put the Ultegra style long reach calipers on the front and I have to use extra spacers between the caliper and fork crown so that the brake pads would actually clear the fork blades! Then because of the extra space taken up by the extra washer I had to use a long recessed nut just to reach the bolt. Just so you know in case you're planning on mounting a front brake.

Mostly roadies, all are steel. All these now have clips/straps.

I have a thing for vintage steel I guess, turned into a disease, I think traded obesity for ocd....

Interesting, thanks for the heads up. There's an IRO dealer here in town, and I'll probably order through them, so it'll be their problem.

New member here. I'm a big fella - probably bigger then a Clydesdale

Just grabbed a 07 Lime on a steal to go with my '04 Navigator 300. With my back the Lime has me sitting more upright. I just do my rides around the city (Milwaukee) and I'm in an area that's relatively flat. Haven't had a chance to get the Lime out yet due to the EIGHTY (!!!) inches of snow this winter. Man I can't wait until spring

Yet another good reason to buy from your LBS! I like the bike a lot other than that weird issue. I hope it treats you well!

Trust me, a nice bike rides nice, but it's all about the engine to get it going. I'd be just as fast on my old road bike from college, and I might be if I can get it road worthy again.

my commuter is a 1983 team fuji.......42/18 with wheels I built in about 1987. flat bars, with lights and a coffe cup holder. I got it as a present when I got my masters' degree in 1983........I love that bike.

my 'nice' bike is a reasonably new crackendale with decent vista wheels.... I'm pretty sure that I'm going to convert it to a single speed. I live on Cape cod and really don't need massive gear-age......

my next purchase will be a very low-geared mountain bike to leave in WAY upstate vermont at my daughters' house, so I can climb mountains when I visit her.

I have a few bikes. One is a department store Schwinn mountain bike outfitted with slick street tires. My main ride is a Giant Cypress DX, slightly modified. So, that's one mountain bike, and one hybrid comfort bike. I also have an antique bike of unknown name/origin that I'm waiting to convert to a drop bar road bike.
