Hundred Minus Club

So how many posters here are into triple digits with their weight loss? Me, Tom Stormcrowe, Caincando, and now Jakereed come to mind, but who else?

Which of your current activities would your hundred pound heavier self describe as "crazy talk" if you asked him? In my case, it would be cycling, along with appearing in public wearing Lycra.

I am at 120 pound weight loss estimate. I know I was over 350, but no idea how far, so I am saying 350 was my fattest.

I did a 10k run in under 58 minutes on Sunday. That was crazy a few years ago. I still don't appear in public wearing lycra. I ride my bike where bicycle shorts, but I ride 99% of my time for a work out, not a leasure ride. If I am on a leasure ride, I wear anything from jeans to shorts, depending upon what I am doing. If I am on a workout ride, it starts and ends at my house, so people might see me in bicycle shorts on my bicycle, but not walking into a store.

What else 100 pounds ago. I wouldn't have done the Bourne Century, nor even have thought about trying it. Going to Peak Performance to buy running specific shoes. Spending more on my first road bike than my first car.

I've lost over 150 now and I'd say that the fact that I'm competing in triathlons was a pretty crazy concept a year ago.

High of 335 back in 1999. Just a few ounces over 200 this morning.

I guess my 335 pound self wouldn't be overly shocked at what I'm up to these days. After all, it was his bright idea to lose the weight and get more serious about all this biking stuff.

Heck, my 335 pound self was pretty crazy in his own right. Although he might have paused for a moment or two before waltzing into the bar in spandex trousers. Couple of beers later though and he'd have had no problem with it.

I'm in the double hundred club, I guess. Triple hundred someday (I hope!).

My old self? Well, he had no clue. I guess my old self wouldn't even fathom the stuff I'm doing now!

Married (previous relationships were measured in weeks), kids, cycling daily, and eating stuff that tastes like crap but keeps me going.

Wait til you have the nerve to walk into a store like Walmart in Lycra and watch where the little old ladies, young ladies and the middle aged ladies ALL look. It can be hilarious. One gal was watching my butt so intently she knocked over a display of cans with her cart.

Hundy down in a year and a 1/2. Nothing is considered "crazy talk" to me... Personally, I couldn't care less what others think.

My intro thread with a race report

Listen to Episode 4, my interview is at 14:29 and it brought a tear to my eye... dang pollen!
