Pollen and Spring Time.

I don't know about you northern neighbors but this pollen down here in the south is murdering me. I usually never get sick this time of year but all of a sudden my sinuses are killing me.

My wife get mad at me however that I will still go out after we get home from work and ride outside. My excuse is that if I just laid around the house I would just get sicker. I feel that if I at least get outside in it and get myself to breathing I might have a big time runny nose when it is done but I will feel somewhat better.

What about you guys do you still get out in the pollen, and if you start getting a little sick do you Cabin fever it and stay indoors or get outside where you can get some air.

It's pretty bad this year here in Florida. I'm not affected by it but many of my friends have been miserable.
What has been very annoying here are all the damn bugs! I got hit in the face this afternoon and this bug was huge. Maybe I'll get one of those hockey masks that the goalies wear. :D

Allergies. The bane of my life. I have both indoor and outdoor allergies, so totally "getting away from it" by staying indoors or outdoors is next to impossible. I carry allergy pills on my rides, and always have my regular stash as well as an emergency one somewhere in the house.

Any day I don't have at least one sneezing fit, I count as a good day, and must have done something right to deserve it. It usually doesn't hit while cycling, but shortly after stopping. I live with it, annoying, but not annoying enough to pursue my passions.

Oregano extract has been working well for me, but my allergy is to mold and oregano extract is an antifungal.

Alka-Seltzer Cold fizzies will help alleviate allergy symptoms like runny nose and congestion.

I suffer badly with it. However, I tough it out and ride in it. Can't let it keep me down!!

That is what I like to hear.

I haven't had an allergy attack yet (still need to wait for all of the snow to melt), but when it hits I will be enjoying the stares as I sneeze a dozen times in a row (after 13 I pretty much blackout).

But I'd rather go outside. I've spent a long long winter indoors and I am positively ACHING to ride my bike. It's looking good for this weekend!

I've used Claritin and other Loratadine-based antihistamines for years, but for some reason they didn't help at all this year. A friend suggested I try Zyrtec, and it seems to work well -- no allergy symptoms, and no drowsiness.

Well, all this coughing and stuffed up head caught up with me last night. I tried riding last night when I got home and as soon as I took a deep breath I started hacking. I just went home and went to bed early last night. I hope I will be better today after therapy.
