I've been kinda lurking for a while and thought I would share my success. Its been 2 years since I've done any serious riding. I've set 3 goals this year, first to complete a 32 mile on the W&OD trail for the Tour de Cure, second is to ride the entire C&O Canal in 3 days by Fall and third is to lose 30 pounds and get under the Clydesdale Range. I started at 229lbs and have lost 9 lbs to date and my first ride was on Feb 24th.
Colder weather and a busy work schedule in WV has prevented me from doing any "serious" training, but I ride whenever I can get a chance. My first ride on Feb 24 was a 3 miler in 30 minutes, today I did my first 10 miler on the road, a few weeks ago I did a 10 miler on the C&O, but that's a whole lot easier than doing it on the road. I was able to do it in 47:23 and I did it without stopping for any breaks. Yahoo!!!
