Hot Windy Ride Today (High of 102)

But I love it! No stinking jackets and I can work on the tan! Wife (Gina) doesn't like the heat but hey, gotta ride!. Ended the 42 miles about 2 pm, so it was hot!

A hot Gina

I think she's looking for sweat but I reallyliked this pic

No stinkin' jackets today!

Strategy my Man, strategy!...Yesterday we started from Imperial for a 42 miler. Gina is not a heat rider at all. Being the first real hot day in a while she suffered bigtime. We made it to the coast no problem but she pooped out on the return so I sat her under a tree near the stadium. I fetched the truck then picked her up. So she did 32. It was very hot and very dry near Imperial. You know how windy it gets in the canyon!

Today we started at the stadium (Rampart St.). We headed to Imperial to ge the windy section out of the way when it was not so hot. Then back to the coast for a rest leaving only 12 miles back. 12 miles in the 'not so windy' section. She was much happier. A bit tough starting out directly into a big headwind but gotta please the woman first!

Whoah! 102 degrees -- I fantasize about heat like that when it's still only 39 degrees in Toronto.

I can't wait until I can ride without a jacket (in another 1 2/2 months if I'm lucky )!

Trade ya, it was 5℃ (41℉) here today with a 35km/h (21MPH) sustained wind from the North, that means it felt more like 0℃/32℉, decided that I didn't want a ride that much.... Just checked the 14 day trends graph though and it looks like it's going to be nice riding for the next couple of weeks

Geeze! Hard to believe it's that cold in other parts of the world. It's been nice the last week and hot the last 3.

I had The Coaster Run (benefits the Speech and Language Development Center in Buena Park) 5K this morning, then an all-day class at my favorite needlework shop, so I was out of the worst of the heat today. I sure am glad it's supposed to cool down tomorrow (of course, it wasn't supposed to be this hot these last few days, either!).

It was in the 40's this weekend here in southern Indiana. Stupid weather. The upcoming weekend looks nice though. I just can't ride that long in such cold temps. I just commute when it's cold.

Damn, 102, I thought my 90F and 20 mph winds were bad. All in all, it probably the same with the higher humidity on the east coast.
